Lake in February!

On Saturday, the weather was so beautiful we decided to take a trip to the lake and check on the boat. Win and Lily were at Mamaw and Big Daddy's house so it was a treat for just Emma. We had lunch and then headed to the boat. It was so pretty Emma asked if she could come back on Sunday with her swim suit and swim. She quickly changed her mind when I asked her to dip her toe in the water! After our little boating adventure, we went to the mall and did a little shopping. It was strange to just have one kid. I have really never experienced that and don't get the opportunity to have one on one time that often. We all enjoyed the day. By late afternoon, we made our home to do a few things around the house and then we took Emma to see the Justin Bieber movie. She loved it. It was a great weekend. I am still laughing about one thing Emma said on the way to the movie............ "I want to go to State Farm, " I said "State Farm?" Emma said, " yes, it is bigger than Geico and Progressive combined!" She is always surprising me! We went to church on Sunday and then headed to Cheeseburger Cheeseburger and Orange Leaf. It was a great ending to our perfect weekend with some special one on one Emma time!

SNow #?????

Snow # ?????
Day 1
It was like a blizzard with the wind blowing cold wet snow on the first day it began to snow. That did not stop us for getting out for a bit. We could not stand it. So that afternoon, we bundled up and headed out for an entire 30 minutes. I think it took me longer to dress everyone than the time we played.

Lily was on her way in at this point. Emma had put snow in her face!

Day 2
It was super fun to play in on the second day. We stayed out way longer than we should have and I did not even think of our faces getting sun burned! I think we played for a good three hours. They kids used sleds, built things, walked around the block, rode the intertube, had snow cones and even a picnic outside. It was fun playing out!

This was our little picnic with some of the neighbors.

Our house with all the snow. I am ready for it to go!

Lily Turns 5!

This week was Lily's 5th birthday. She took cupcakes to her friends at school on Thursday. We had a snowday of Friday, after going to school only to turn around and pick up at 9. It was quite the snow day. Lily lost her first tooth. I did not even know it was loose!
Lily got an ipod for her birthday. I downloaded lots of educational games and some movies and some music. I must learn how to put the videos on here because I have several of Lily dancing and singing!

SWIM LESSONS

Last night all of the kids began swim lessons at Bishop Park. It has a new aquatic center and the kids were super excited. The kids are good swimmers, but have no technique. I would like them to become stronger swimmers and know the different strokes. Between the pool and the lake, we live in the water during the summer..........that being said we started our journey on swim lessons. The kids will go three nights a week for four weeks. They were super excited last night, but it was just to kind of see where everyone was and to group them. They did not get to spend a lot of time in the water, but that did not discourage them. They were still excited. It will be a challenge for me. Last night we had come home from school, did home work and had supper with only about 45 minutes down time before swim lessons. Then of course they were hungry afterwards and had to eat again. So much for my plan. This means that the kids will now have something every night of the week. This is going to be an interesting four weeks!

Traveling Frog

At Lily's school the star student gets to take "Traveling Frog" home the weekend before they are star student. When they return the following week, they bring back TF with an entry of what they did in his journal along with snacks for the week. Lily really enjoys bringing him home and plays with him so hard he had to take a spin in the washer and dryer before returning to school this week.

ATA Monday, January 24, 2011

Win and Emma have attending ATA for around 6 months now. First your start out with a white belt, then orange then yellow. Earning stripes in between belts. On this occasion they were having a graduation to the next belt. They are now yellow belts and will begin to practice breaking boards! I don't know if we are ready for this!
